is the fuel pump of a car with an nz engine fitted the same as a g40,
also is it worth replacing the in tank pump at the same time or are they ok for 90,000 plus miles?

Yeah all the MPI Mk3 polos share the same in-line pump. £25 for a new in-tank. Probably worth changing as the gauze filter breaks up over time too.
