Hi All

New to the forum (as a 'proper member' anyway).

Searched and couldn't find this subject being covered already, so....

How does everyone get on insuring their (modified) G40s?  Is there an understanding company/broker anyone can recommend?

I've been involved with several other car forums and this topic comes up again & again, expecially where classic or modified policies are needed.

So - where do you go & (roughly) what do you pay?  Include location, whether the car is garaged or not, business use, driver age, etc.

Thanks for any info,

David.

dont insure my half finished shell  ;D but insurance (as has come up plenty of times before) is really down to the individual and their circumstances. try Brentacre - specialist vw modified guys! but you may find that you can get better than them. all depends on what your personal details are and what has been done to the car!

I'm with Brentacre. Normally good for two things, 1 you tell them that you have a flowed charger and toothed pulleys and they know what you are talking about and 2 they insure by horsepower. You set a limit and then you can do whatever you want as long as the BHP is below that figure. Gives you freedom with the car so you dont have to ring them every two minutes when you change the ride height, swap the wheels etc.

I'm with Adrian Flux and my policy is the same kinda thing (horsepower rated)

Brentachre for me Adrian Flux always fuck me about...

No problems no hassle easy to swap cars etc and usually alot cheaper than anyone else:)

Brentacre here as well, great service.

i normally jump between the 2, it is like a lottery i find, both companies have been idiots with me when it comes to renewal time, but price wise and knowledge wise they seem to better the rest

I've been with Brentacre and Flux - not much to choose between them for service IMO.

Flux were always much cheaper for me for the last 4 years though, and I've found Brentacre tend to get the hump and be a bit shirty with you if you tell them you've had a cheaper quote elsewhere!

Am now with Sky Insurance, as they beat Flux's quote by a decent amount - and were suitably switched-on about mods.

Always pays to shop around!!
