right guys, this thread has got me into gear to fit my kit (had it nearly a year) but went to look at my sandwhich plate and am not sure if its right, it is thermostatic controlled but to me it looks like the thermostat is in the open postion. see pic below.

also does it matter which pipe you put on to which outlet, i was thinking no because it doesnt matter which way the oil runs through the cooler?

i imagine the side of the sandwhich plate with the rubber seal on goes against the block because the filter already has a seal on it?

one last question and might be a bit stupid, with a kit fitted do you need to increase the amount oil you put in the engine or do you just continue to fill to the level on the dipstick

Is there not any arrows for the flow on the side?

Yes you do, but run it till the engine is warm enough for the thermostat to open as there could be as much as half a litre in the oil lines and cooler, depending on size.

cheers jezza, na no marks indicating flow jus says mocal on it. thought you would have to increase oil level just wasnt 100% sure.

anyone got any thoughts on the position of my thermostat, heres another pic

Cause i got the same oil plate i will see how mine is mounted in the morning and i will take a pic and post it on here.

That way i guess it cant be wrong as mine has never had a problem.

mines behind the grille, i was able to get a mocal one to sit behind the grille so its out the way.
