Due to a number of different circumstances (storage - was in grandad's garage and now his house has been sold since his death!, guilt in using it, too many projects on hte go etc..)  this is going to have to go soon.

I bought it last november from the original owner - and promised to look after it.  I've done about 200 miles in it and replaced the cam belt, plug leads, water pump, coolant, oil, oil filter, air filter (vag stuff).  I've given it a right good polish.  I've also changed the charger timing belt.  I didn't service it as there is a good 15-20k left in it, what with it having an easy life.

Has original dealer plates, original stereo etc.

Period fit thatcham cat 1 alarm with 2 sets of keys.

Full history.

Not totally mint - some stone chips, trolley dinks, slight marks on headlining etc.  Plus has a gt interior as the original old boy specced it that way in the dealership!!! The battery tray has had a (quite sh1t) repair, but I have a guy on hand to rectify that - which i was planning to do as soon as he can fit me in.

However, you wont find any cleaner in a hurry. it actually feels and smells new.

Anyone interested, more than happy to chat to them/test drive it.  I want a fair price, not extortionate, but given they don't come up often like this I will just say no to sh1t offers - and I want it to go to a good home - as I promised the original owner.  Sad to see it go.  Will be at bvf in it this weekend if people want to see it.

That looks and sounds like a great car.  I always did want a black one ( I had Tornado red), it has actually got me thinking about owning another G40!

I still can`t believe your getting rid Pete, especially as you once moaned that you wer a bit sick of Red.
All i can say is you`ve either been made redundant or you`ve put a bun in yer girlfriends oven.
Sell the others Pete.

Fred.

lack of storage and the potential of both of the above is also true!!!
I'd sell others, but then it'd involve me running this one daily, which isn't fair to the car.  For info i'm after £3.5k ono with a full mot.

Go with Fred; hold this one; buy a bike. Big regrets if you let that one go Pete. You put a lot of time into G hunting, so what chance do you honestly think you have of finding another like this.

i agree unfortunately!!!!
this is a nearly mint example and it has to go to the best home!!!
your never going to get someone to look after it (like i could)
if i had the money i would cherish it and give her the best life she had!!!!!!!
but funds say no at this time!!!!

good luck,
hope she gets the home she deserves

cheers

if i was to keep it, it would be stored on a patch of muddy ground, used as a ladder fora local cat to climb fences and therefore would be rusted up by next year! either that or parked on a main road and doing 15,000 miles a year!  still think i should keep it?!?

i wont find another like this, but have owned two low milers, and i dare say in 20 years i'll do a nut and bolt resto on one!!

Worth speaking to VW Pete as they may store it in a dealership or something?

Might be worth a go

Sorry the car has to go Pete.
If the new owner is after a standard G40 interior get him to give me a call.

Cheers mate
