256mm front disc conversion-pics!
« on: May 12, 2010, 01:17:31 am »
I just want to praised with my new front calipers and carriers, cause i search them from very long time! Here in my country is very hard to find these things! They need some renewing and new paint, but very soon they'll be ready!
Excuse me if that topic doesn't have any sense!  ;D

Calipers and carriers are from Audi Coupe 84'

All needed stuff are:
-Golf 2 16v front brake discs
-Golf 2 16v brake pads

I just want to show some pics for all who have interest, how to upgrade front brakes 239 to 256mm discs!

Well I was looking for the same ones in my country and what i found out is that, the ones in the pictures are easy to find but they do not fit the g40! The reason being that the pad carrier bolts are 10cm away from each other, rather than 8cm of the g40! only the ones out of the audi 80 quattro seem to fit, and boy are they hard to find! Are these from an audi 80 quattro (they dont look like the right ones), or did you do something else to fit them!

the ones with the bolt holes too far apart are from a mk2 golf.  These are the right ones from an audi (as he says in his post!).  The pics show them fitted to polo struts :)

So...
First that i found was audi 90 4 doors 85' 2.3 but not quatro! With 256 ... and so and so but they don't fit!
After that with luck i found this one - ordinary audi coupe ~ 84'!

If you can't find audi coupe - try Scirocco GTX only with 256mm discs! 100% they are the same!  ;D

GT air mainfold yesterday i got 2 already!
