dam wires

Hi iam havin some real problems and wonderin if any one can help. I have a mk 2 with a g40 in and i have come to a stand still. The problem are. The fuel pump only powers when ignition is fully over to turn it over. The engine isnt sparkin. I think i have all the plugs in the rite place. Any advice would great or any one local that i could comper all to plugs to. The car is based in retford north notts.  thanks paul

the fuel pump should come on to prime for a second when the ignition is turned on but then it should only run fully when actually cranking the engine over.  As for there being no spark, have you got a spare ignition coil to try?  Is there 12v going to the coil?
