Anyone done or know of a Turbo conversion FAQ?

As above really.  Looking into this but could do with a list of bits and bobs that are needed so I can attempt to price it up!

My blog on Club Polo records most of what I did to convert mine - think I also did an article for the club newsletter too. Will have a dig around on my laptop...

If you sell the G-lader juicy bits like 4-branch and toothies etc. you should be able to convert to K03 turbo for next to nowt.

Cheers Andy. That's what I'm hoping tbh. I just know there's always bits you never thought of that push you over the budget.

I suppose the first question is what benefit will I have in basically doing a straight swap on my engine from charger to turbo? More power, but how much realistically?

up to you really, can go for 200bhp if you want to.  Or keep it around 160-170 with lower boost levels.  A tuned turbo g40 is nicer to drive than a tuned supercharged one in my opinion.

Hayesey, am I right in thinking that you're still running 1272cc? Have you got any internal
engine mods?

Andy, I read your blog earlier and you say near the start that you wish you'd just bought the Rothe kit in full. Having completed yours now and presumably witnessed a few others, would you still say thats the best way forward or do you reckon it can be done for less now?
