Which injectors?
« on: April 17, 2010, 01:11:51 pm »
I'm currently overhauling my G, and amongst the many 'new' parts I've got are some G60 injectors but I'm not sure if I'll need them.

Engine spec. is nothing major: -
Fully rebuilt 1272 bottom end.
Ported head with standard exhaust valves.
Schrick cam with adjustable pulley.
GT inlet manifold and enlarged throttle body.
Jabba R1 charger with 65mm toothed pulley.
PPP exhaust, hopefully with manifold.

From what I gather this spec. is on the borderline of needing more fueling. I don't really want to pay for 2 sets of injectors to be cleaned and checked, so I'm after some advice from those who've been there and done it. Also would I need to run with the colder plugs?
Cheers guys.

Would've thought greens would be more than adequate for that.

Yeah, I'm just wondering though if I'll actually need more fueling with my engine spec, being standard capacity. I don't know much about injector efficiency range and duty cycles etc, I'm just wondering if the G60s would be working below their optimum level.

250cc will easily do for that spec. dont need to start thinking about bigger until you are thinking of getting to 200bhp.

Not thinking of going bigger Hayesey, I'm wondering if G60's will be too big and if I should stick with standard (just re-read my first post, I meant borderline between sticking with standard injectors or moving up to the G60's). I've searched the forum on the subject, and remember reading that standard injectors can cope with 150bhp (I believe you said it too Hayes!), and this is the sort of power I'm expecting. I don't want to fit the G60's just to say I have, I want to use the ones that will work best. Same with the plugs, if I don't need to run the colder ones I'll stick with standard.

standards are safe with 150bhp-160bhp yeah.  I think you'll be  borderline with that spec and I'd use 250cc ones, best off playing on the safe side!
