gearbox gone bang :(

anyone got a spare for sale that isnt the one on ebay for £295?

or does anyone know if uprated parts are avalible for them anywhere?

i think its broken 2nd gear, but havent even got it out yet

do you think it's actually stripped the gear itself or just damaged the selector forks or hub?  Prob best to get it rebuilt and fixed if possible, you can quite often just use parts from another 085 box to fix it and G40 boxes are very hard to find in decent condition now.  A GT gearbox could be used for it's 2nd gear if you need one or there might be other 085s with the same gear in too.

ah cool, well if the bits it needs arent just fitted to G40 boxes my guys should hopefully be able to repair it.. still gotta get it out

well the final drive is g40 specific but the gear ratios themselves are also found in GT boxes and possibly others.    Check this out:

looking at that (which was made by mark hunter so should be pretty accurate I reckon), 1st gear itself is also the same in 8p boxes which are common as muck.  In fact I have an 8p in pieces and the first gear in it should be fine, let me know if you end up needing it. I guess you wont know till someone has it in bits.  That box I've got also has the selector forks and what not so let me know if you end up needing any of that too.

now fixed :)  will get some pics of the damage up when i get a chance ;)
