« on: March 27, 2010, 04:07:35 pm »

cant see why not, probibly be the extreme end of the power for that spec though so i wouldnt expect a certain 154.

doubt it,  I reckon 150bhp would be max dependant on additional mods.

Depends on what the cam spec is.  Also you'd need a 2 1/4" exhaust system, if keeping airbox then drill it and also it would depend on your supercharger spec aswell.

I used to find that the stock exhaust would sufficate itself at around 145bhp.

Better off getting plugs from GSF and getting them cheaper then getting a decent induction kit rather than the filter. Might see 154 then. The cam is the most money.

Jabba's chip and pulley is around same price as well so it would be better off getting that from jabba. Or getting a chip from andy to suit the mods which would be cheaper. You could get a smaller pulley off someone from here no doubt.

If you look at this and but it individually you could save yourself money.

And the plugs are W4DPO not W5DPO which are standard ones. GSF do them for something like £10 a plug.

That kit is £450.02

Cams are around £230

Plugs are £10.50 each ( £42 )

Jabba pulley and chip £170 i think

and then a good induction kit which could cost anything

That comes to £442 but if you get a chip from andy ( Map # G40002) which would cost £30 and pulleys wont cost alot. You can get ally ones from http://www.g-laderseite.de/eshop/product_info.php?products_id=52 for £44.

Getting the cam, W5DPO plugs, chip from andy, pulley from that site would cost £342 saving £108.

That means you have £108 to spend on an induction kit.

Have a think and look around.

hmm yeah didn't spot the plugs were the colder ones.  No need for them unless big power.  stay with W5.

I think a jabba G60 induction kit 'was' about £60, plus twenty odd quid for the collar and 3" piping  -stick it where the charcoal canister used to live (if youve binned it)

unreal, you guys know what your on about and are saving me money :D

so i should get the camshaft from that site i put up then get the 65mm pulley from that site you showed me [jezza-7] + W5DPO plugs from GSF + a chip from andy + a 2.25" exhaust + a jabba g60 induction kit?

Does the exhaust have to be stainless? will i get it decat?

also, where would i get a g60 induction kit?

thanks again.

I was already planning on removing the boost return pipes so ill fit the filter where the charcoal canister 'lives' lol

you don't need specifically the G60 induction kit, I used to always have it over a G40 one for future expandibility, also liked the noise, lol.

You can just use the G40 one, slightly cheaper... I think the G40 one is actually 'flow rated' for 400bhp so Id think it'd be enough, lol.

If you were after saving money, don't have the cam just yet.  The stock G40 is very good.

Exhaust doesn't have to be Stainless, I used to have a mild steel custom made system, lighter for the track car and cheaper (cost me £220) though last you about 2-3years.  If you need to decat, then you'll need a non de cat downpipe from VAG (it was £90 years back), or cut it off the stock G40 one and get a sleeve welded over with boss welded too for lambda.

I've got a filter collar that I want to sell at the moment. I've got a filter and pipe knocking about too.

Dub diaster is selling a 2.25 system with vw decat downpipe i think. Give him a PM.

This is my induction setup, it's not jabba, just a large K&N with custom made ally inlet pipe with jabba heatshield not in pic though.

Here we go, £80 for the full system. I have seen this as antony lives about 6 miles from me.
