When changing the engine block ...
« on: March 21, 2010, 06:22:02 am »
Hi all,
When changing the engine block (wich I'm half way through currently) what parts would you suggest replacing and what parts would you say would be ok to use again. The car was running fine before I changed the block so all parts must be working just wondering what parts people suggest putting on new. Obvouisly plugs, gaskets, water pump , cambelt, all fluids .
But would you change the thermostat and ht leads dizzy? Any other sensors I should put on my shopping list whilst I'm at it and it's easy to access them with the block out ??

what looks worn really.

Stuff like thermostat/housing might be a good idea as you're replacing coolant.

The only must for me is water pump/timing belt as its easier out of the car!

I'd change the breather dome too, to be sure it isn't blocked.
