At the moment the engine is out for a rebuild, and I want to get a bit of paint done in the engine bay. So I thought I'd re-wrap the loom as well, but how do I remove the whole engine loom from the fusebox? Disconnect the plug under the dash and remove the whole fuse box? Or does it come out while leaving the fuse box in place? I had just assumed that there were plugs under the 2 rubber covers.
Thanks.

you can leave the fuse box in place.

if you slide back the rubber ends on the end of the loom at the fuss box witch reveal the connection blocks using a screw driver or something to split the connection plug job done

Nice one, I'll check again tomorrow, to my tired eyes it didn't look like connectors.

Loom is out :) Even with fresh eyes I wasn't happy with taking a screwdriver to it, so took the fuse box out. Glad I did, since the connectors unplug from behind it.

I know this is an old thread now but I'm in the same situation wanting to remove my loom, only I can't realy get in the car as it's in a tiny garage and can't litraly fit in there to get the dash of !!
Am I going to have to settle on re wraping the engine bay side of the loom only or is there another way to lremove the loom.
The engine bay side of the loom is the only bit that needs re wraping but I wouldn't mind adding a few spare cables for bits an pieces in the future, also kinda wanted it re wraped and clipped back in before the engine goes back in becuase it will be easier to do.
Or is the best thing to do to put the suspension and wheels all back on roll the car out and remove the dash and completley remove retape and ad new wires to the loom?
Just trying to avoid making extra work for myself what do you guys think
