I've got an autogauge boost gauge in mine. Works although being cheap crap, isn't ideal.
Needle should be in minus figures when off boost?

What stack one you looking at getting as there are different types.

I have been looking into stack gauges too.

For the boost gauges this is what i have been looking at and there are 3 different types.

With the exception of the 1st one having different colour lights, what is the difference between them?
The 3rd one says it comes complete with wiring harness and associated solid-state sensor but the 2nd one says it comes with associated sensor.

Can someone explain a little more?

it says what the differences are in the writing in those linked pages.  1st one is the professinal gauge with a tell-tale memory and is electrical with a sensor in the engine bay, 2nd one is mechanical with a vacuum pipe going to it, 3rd is electronic with a sensor to go in the engine bay and wires to the gauge.

That makes sense now. Thanks for that, was getting a little confused.  :-[

I think that aftermarket gauges tend to look cheap and tacky even though they often have a massive price tag, it seems that most of them are designed for show anyway with gay blue lights and all sorts of crap.

Autometer gauges are good but they look a little too 'racey' for me if that makes any sence, I think its hard to put extra gauges in a standard ish interior without them looking out of place.

I got a VDO oil pressure gauge out of a golf GTI, and a TIM 2 bar mechanical boost gauge. The only tacky gauge I have is the AEM wideband, but I couldnt find a wideband that didnt look gash in my price range.

I wish I had put them in the glovebox but at the time I didnt even know you could get a glove box for a mk3 polo lol, it seems there is sod all other places to put them besides on the bonnet.

I've got VDO gauges from some Audi in the centre console, which I think look great and not out of place. Even the current range look the same as mine, not at all flashy. But I've stuggled to find a boost gauge to match, the ones that are most similar (including the current VDO) all say 'Turbo', the ones that say 'Boost' are usually too garish. And again, where to put it? I'm not a fan of gauges in place of the radio, so I'm considering an A pillar mounting pod although I think it may be distracting.

i measured this up..
the a pillar isnt deep enough, and the gauge mounting pods were all too huge for a little polo

Which is what I suspected, glad I didn't have to buy one to find out! ;). A custom dash is one thing I've always fancied, but realistically I don't think I could be arsed.
