CEK gearbox question
« on: January 17, 2010, 11:41:18 pm »
When i apply full throtle to my g or i start it fast (without spinning the wheels) i hear a ticking noise..
Firstly i thought that a CV joint had passed away.. I took of the driveshaft and i mentioned that CVs where ok (had no play)
The checked the flange and it was playing.. Is there any posibility to be the flange's little shaft broken and i have the rattling noise, or the differential is broken?
Does anyone had a similar problem?

It may be a problem with the output shaft bearings in the gearbox being worn. I am not sure but I think these can be replaced without taking the gearbox apart.

Part 3 are the diff bearings which need the box opening to change. The differential pinion set (part 22) might also be worn. On 6n gearboxes, any wear play is taken up by the output shaft spings.

Best thing to do is have the whole gearbox refurbished by a transmission speciallist.

I'm afraid that, if the differential pinion set is broken, the price of these parts (brand new) is going to be prohibitory...
And that play shows me that something is going wrong with the diff...
