Just been looking at some for my oil cooler setup that im doing.

Is it worth getting a oil stat?

Also looking at oil tempreature gauge adaptor.

Can someone explain what these are for.

Im guessing it is put along in the line so you can easily connect a gauge to it?

This is where im looking at getting them from

Oh and one last thing, what size oil hose is ideal to use?

5/8 or 1/2?

Cheers!

Definitely fit a thermostat. I haven't fully looked into it for myself yet but I want to fit one to my car too. I believe a decent one should bleed a small flow through it into the oil cooler from cold, slowly warming up oil the oil in the system, in the same way as in the coolant system. This does mean it will take a little longer than normal to warm up but you won't have all the cold oil inside the cooler entering the engine at once. And then it will operate to maintain the oil temp within range and help keep the overall engine temp correct.

just get a sandwich plate with a stat integrated in.
