Im changing the clutch on my g40 cos the gearbox is coming off so ill  have a clutch that still has a bit life in it.  Will it fit my mates 1 litre?

i put one of mine in a gt a bit back that worked fine so i would say so pal. 1 ltr ones 180mm and g40 200mm? but fly wheels are same i think.

i think it'll fit too.  I thought standard polos are 190mm and g40's are 200mm.  Can anyone confirm whether it will fit 100%?

also...question 2.

the tube thing inside the bell housing that the thrust bearing slides along?

high temp grease or copper slip?  Im thinking high temp grease...

i dont put any on mate, i dont think it needs it and your only risking getting it on your clutch and it slipping.

it will fit if the flywheel isn't worn, me and rae tried to fit a clutch and tho it'd physically fit there was a lip on the flywheel meaning the friction plate wouldn't touch the fly properly.

IIRC 1.0 and 1.3 engines se a 180mm clutch, GT and ABD engines use a 190mm clutch.

I have got a 200mm plate in a cover made for a 190mm clutch lol.

g40 is 200mm all others are 190mm.  There is no 180mm clutch listed in etka for a mk3 polo.

I think some earlier mk2s use a 180mm one though.

Zoos this a simple no it won't fit lol.

Ahh right, that explains it. The 180mm clutch I had came off an old MK2 HK engine, i was assuming it was all the same jazz on the mk3's.

You know what they say, to ASSUME makes an ASS of U and ME!
