Has come on again now but it has only done it after a certain amount of driving, as in distance.

Could it just be that the pads and disc's need replacing?

Its the next to do on my list so hope it is.

djtez

checed brake fluid?
wy not just disconnect it?

Jezza-7

Yeah checked that.

What im sayin is it keeps dropping without any signs of leaks.

djtez

have youdon a full fluid change??
could well be majorly  old fluid with had conducted some moisture and is evapurating when hot by friction heat..?
just an idea..

Ok thanks for your help. Might pop into VW and get them to look as i havent got a great deal of time, plus working on the car in cold is not nice.

Jezza-7

I think i have found the problem.

Car didnt wanna slow down much yesterday on full braking so i think new dics's and pads are on order.

Need to get them anyway.

For pads im looking at ebc red stuff and yellow but not sure what to get. Have used green stuff before but they are really dusty and wore quickly.

Pads are gonna be used with brembo drilled disc's.

PeteG40

thought red and yellow needed to be hotter before working - like track pads

Jezza-7

The yellow stuff say they work at cold tempreature which is umcommon.

This is what i got from the website

"Although a full race material and capable of high temperature use with very good wear life, this new formulation sets a new trend in race type brake pad compounds that can be used on road or track. The "bite" from cold is superb which is uncommon with race materials (normally requiring warm-up) and makes this a pad which can be safely used on both street and track."

I was told by someone to get a good set of disc's like brembo if you can afford them with yellow stuff pads as the standard g40 callipers get very hot and the heat wont affect the pad.

But i think the red stuff would be ok to. There is only a £2 difference in price too.
