Are G40 fog lights the same as mk2 golf gti one's?

No, the ones fitted to the G40 are model specific.

but i am sure they are the same as some on the big bumper version or something like that i remember reading before

I think its the lens thats the same. not the whole unit. someone will clear this up shortly.

Hmmmm i didn't think they were, just wandered as G40 one's are hard to come by used.

T'other way round

Took a look in VagCat and I think they may be the same. Last five ID digits are the same. Thats for 1990 Golf and Polo.

Lenses/Brackets are Polo Specific

Projectors are very slightly different but Golf ones fit the Polo lenses fine.
