Shocks/Springs
« on: December 06, 2009, 01:31:45 pm »
Morning,
I'm currently building a MK2 Breadvan racer, i've got a G40 lump to go in (just sold the charger to PeteG40 and bought a Turbo) and i'm currently waiting for the Rollcage to finish being built.

Now, i've got a Subframe for the front suspension and coilover struts too but i'm lacking shocks and springs.  Its going to weigh a little more than a normal shell as it has a 9pt cage in there but otherwise it will be fairly bare in there (buckets, no carpet, rear seats etc).  Can anyone point me in the right direction for shocks and springs for the front and rear, what sort of stiffness should i be going for, what're the best dampers to use etc?

Thanks in advance, Nev.

Also just to add, its being built to be a track car, so it needs to be set up for that!

I've gone for 275lb front, 200lb rear on gaz shocks. running a bit of extra weight too and feels bob on for the road although I back the damping right off for day to day. I'd go for that as a minimum if it's for the track. Maybe 300/225?
