Alpine white, is it laquered?
« on: November 18, 2009, 12:17:11 pm »
Hey chaps/chapesses,

Took my fuel filler door thing to the local auto paint store this morning for an aerosol colour match. He reconed it is laquered, even polished it a bit and checked the cloth for colour. He thought there was no paint rubbed off onto his cloth. As far as I was aware though, it's not laquered?

I'm still not convinced it is laquered. Does anyone know for sure?

Many thanks

depends if its had a repair job.

non-metallics are often jsut base colours as from factory, however many sprayers choose to use 2pac and laquer over the top for added shine.

Finally got through to the dealer - they reckon no laquer too.
Will be taking this paint back then!
Thanks chaps.

As pete says if its has a bit of work, it could well be laquerd, weather is was just a solid couler or base then laquer gives the same result, just the laquer route is easiyer
