well i reckon there will be plenty that are owned by people who don't visit sites like this.  i remember steve (psd) telling me he used to have a fair few g40 owners who never went near a computer who came to him for business.   how many exactly around the 300 mark i read somewhere not long back.

I was under the impression it was about 250ish a couple of years back, and would say probably quite a few less seeing the amount that are breaking for spares these days, either way I can count 2 in my family!

i was thinking 200 mark some reason when i was at edition 38 last year i counted 17 40s

a couple of years ago someone phoned the DVLA and was told something like 330.  Probably a fair few less than that now I bet.  The DVLA should be able to say how many are taxed or sorned.  Not sure how easy it is to get that info from them though.  I might try ringing them!

you can make a freedom of information request iirc,not sure how you do it though.
