Before I found out what my major over-fueling was my idle speed was around 900ish which i set it at.
I unplugged the lambda while in france to try and salvage some MPG and find a solution to the problem and it fixed it, though my idle speed went up to 1100-1200rpm which i just presumed was normal; a little like unplugging the blue temp sender.

Got an NGK one all plugged up and earthed, idle speed was about 900 when i first fitted it and now its up at 1100-1200ish again - when i unplug it, the idle speed remains the same. this normal? was the faulty one just lowering the idle speed?

Thanks!

whats the fuelling like with the new lambda plugged in?  if it's ok then I'd just adjust the idle to normal level using the idle screw on the throttle body.

Same as without it i think, obv masses better than the 17mpg with the faulty one on. got about 28mpg crusing at 90ish and a few blasts.
