Like Hayes i had my car mapped with Yoof and Andy who run Polo PP as many of you know, the car was mapped on Friday before the RR day. The spec of the car is as follows:

1341cc
K03 Turbo
Turbo Cam
Vernier Pulley
GT Inlet
310cc Injectors
Polo PP ECU Map Sensor
Polo PP 63mm Full Exhaust System
Aquamist Methanol Injection
Front Mounted Intercooler
51mm Throttle Body
Standard Head

The day starts off at Yoof's place (i stayed over the night before making love to Yoof all night long).

Yoof gives the car a safety/health check, ie, checking the plugs etc.

Andy aka Mapping Guru with fucked up hands comes out the house.

The car gets all the mapping gear put in and set up by Andy whilst Yoof holds his willy..............

Andy gets the mapping started and does some idle mapping to ensure he is happy with idle speed etc.

Its then time to take the car out on the road to do some mapping work, Andy is there in the passenger seat whilst I am driving. The mapping on the road took around 2hrs and throughout the mapping Andy was explaining to me what he was doing and why he was doing it etc. Also what was nice was that Andy actually discussed things like fuelling top end etc, most people just do it and not want to know your opinion.

After the road stuff the car then went on the rolling road where Andy was able to do some nice steady state mapping.

The whole mapping session took about a day, I can't describe how well the car drives, the mapping work has created a car that drives like standard, the fuelling is spot on (I have a wideband in the car), part loads it is smooth and above all else it is stupidly quick now. I can't recommend Polo PP enough to be honest, yes I am very close friends with the Strange brothers but not taking that into consideration the 2 brothers are extremely professional and above all else they know what they are doing, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my Polo that's for sure.

Oh and the engine produced 161.4bhp at the wheels (193bhp@ flywheel) on the rollers along with 178 lb/ft of torque!

hayesey

only 161.4 eh?  unlucky....

seriously though, it's very good.  The strange brothers really know what they're doing.

I wish I'd bothered to take some photos of the mapping on mine.

Yoof

Thanks guys  :) Aside from our own cars, and those Andy does at work, these are our first two customer's car sessions we've done.

I've got some pics and vids of both your cars, and the power/boost comparison- very interesting stuff but not unexpected.

Mapping/diagnostics kit has taken a while to get together, and a hell of a cost, but we're now looking into a knock box to compliment our current set-up too.

Will link the vids/pics here a little later  8)

cheers rocket, any more pics?  just email them if you want.

& nice one yoof, can you email me the video(s) of mine too?

That is 161.4 at wheels! So the 193 at the flywheel which is a very respectable figure. Also shows not a lot of loss of power to the wheels.

Andy

Hayesey's only joking- we mapped his car that day too, and he got 0.2bhp more at the flywheel  ;D

haha yeah I was only joking, hence saying "seriously though, it's very good".  ;D

Vids are now here:

The jolt on the dyno is the spark being blown out at peak torque/speed- possibly too much aquamist at this point, although hasn't proved to be a problem on the road.

andy, top car mapper but struggles with velcro shoes  :D

hayesey

he loves his £10 Tesco trainers bought from Weston Favell Tesco at Polo Show, he seems to be wearing them every time I see him.

giorgio

Bloody hell boys did not know you had a chassis dyno down at your place.  :D

Andy

Lol, wish we did! The dyno is at John Sleath Racing - we were there the night before the RR day, Aldon was out of action so John sorted us out.

Oi Hayes - it was Edition38 not Polo Show. Long live the gyppo trainers!

This looks all really professional and the cars look tremendous.  A right good effort and great to see this dedication to the g40 following, keep it up...
