basically since ive owned the car 9 times out of 10 when im driving if i put the clutch in/neautral the rev's will only drop to about 2,500 rpm then after a few seconds then drop all the way to 900 i have replaced all the vacume hoses and cleaned out the throttle body and manifold basically ive come to the conclusion its the vacume sensor in the ECU and just wondered if anyone has had the same fault and this has fixed it ? ?

cheers tom .

doubt it's the map sensor in the ECU or you'd have lots of running issues as this determines the fuelling all the time.

Sounds more like the throttle cable sticking or something.

Mine does something similar, but my engine doesn't rev between idle and 2k rpm, one of the two. So I think accelerator cable sticking just a little. Anyone else's car's throttle as sensitive?

Also, replace the auxiliary air valve... Propably its passed away...

is this the little black circle thing coming off the pipes near the cam belt cover and air filter ? ? ? ?

aux air valve sits on top of the water pipe with two approx 10mm bore pipes connected to it and a wiring connector with two wires.  It's metal and mainly silver in colour.  They aren't cheap to buy new though.
