This is what I could find on volksforum.com.
http://www.volksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45330

What I understand from this dutch forum is an active sounds system with four speakers and two sub woofers, apperently it uses dedicated wiring.

hope this helps.

yeah its got 2 "bass bins" (10cm x2 speakers each in a circle enclosure with a grill) mounted on wee bolt on brackets in the boot sides (where the boot side carpet covers go),
and it has speakers in the standard location in the back but they are higher ohm out put that normal ones and have the wee protective covers on them + 2 front speakers with wee high power tweeters in the dash holes and its all worked off a plug in additional speaker loom.

it also got:

1/2 colour coded bumpers and mirrors
purple trim in the bumpers
colour coded boot grasp handle
fog lights with the proper vw cut outs
special floor mats with the genesis patern
special genesis trim on the steering wheel
most seem to have came with the centre consol cassette storage deck too
GT/G40 bolstered seats with the genesis special print
genesis graphics on the bonnet and rear quarters
hella clear front indicators
black GT/G40 spec front and rear VW badges
black GT/G40 spec headlining
a glovebox lid
BBS RAs with the fox spec wheel covers for the nuts (usually missing now)
the headunit was a cassete one with a built in amp i believe, and you could get a CD version but they are uber rare.

you could get it in most engine formats: standard 1L 1.3L and GT and G40 with corisponding suspension and axles and brake systems.

All except 1 were LHD.

and you could commonly get the optional extra leather pack on them with leather stearing wheel, gear shift gaitor and gearnob (not the one we get in the UK a slightly different shaped gearnob one).
then you got the stadard range of VW optional extras to chose from.

will take my anorak off now.

might have been mate, only way you got 1 was definately the genesis competition. so i thought there was only 1 as a prize :-\ ? remember reading about they chap who won it at some point.

Chris: what bits you missing out the list? as i might know someone with the bits you need.  :)

ETKA still lists the boot brackets and i have some pics if you want me to email it through, got a wiring diagram for the sound system too.
might mean you cant fit your first aid kit in though!! :(

chris2911

my mate peter had a set of mats will ask him is he still has them LHD,

genesis graphics are a german ebay item im afraid or netherlands as standard genesis polos over there had the same "genesis" text but no musical stickers in front of them. think Vw has stopped doing them not 100% sure.

front tweeters are 867 035 411A 4 ohm
Rears are 867 035 411B 38 ohm
bass bins are 867 035 403
brackets ( 2 flat and 1 angled) are in the add on book on ETKA - dont have them handy at the moment im afraid.

from what i can make out there are 2 "bass bins" in the boot and one in the dash + the 2 tweeters in the normal dash position.

the wiring will be the hardest as is classed as a "locally made loom" which in vw terms means the dealers made it up on site!

You should also hunt for the pin badge that vw made to go with the cars says "genesis presented by volkswagen" with the genesis in the same font.

here are some pics:

boot bass bin

owners pin badge

graphics

90% of the sound system

netherlands version was only similar in name nothing else, its on genuine vw optional extra wheels taht look a bit like rsls.
