hello, still got the intermittant misfire with my 40, only seems to do it when you boot it round for a bit.

While it was plaing around on idle, i pulled the blue temp sender plug off, the revs then went up and stuck there, and it wasn't messing around, then when i put it back on, it eventually went back to messing around again, does this mean the blue temp sender is faulty?

Cheers

no the revs should rise when you unplug the blue temp sender so that's normal.

maybe needs new ht leads or plugs or the coil?

i've done everything but the coil. Im having exactly the same problem as Justin14100, the odd problem thread at the bottom of the first page.
Im well stuck!

Cheers though, thanks a bugger, was hoping it was gonna be something simple like that, but i guess not.

Quotehi volt leads

not sure I like the sound of them!  G40s can be sensitive to poor quality leads, I always use german made ones from GSF such as BERU or BBT, they are OEM quality.

Fred

Has the Hall sender been checked in the Distributor.

Fred.

im not sure, to be honest. Im getting it plugged in tomorrow morning, and i've just ordered a new lambda from work for tomorrow if i need it. on the picture it has a seperate earth wire and ring terminal, so does this mean that the lambda is earthed to the body underneath the car?

Dan

Theres an earth point on the inlet manifold bracket. Make sure it's clean. A lot of people run an extra earth wire from the battery to there.

Quite a few years ago people were getting missfires with NGK plugs.
