I'm having trouble finding a 1341cc cam to match my bottom end, I've just got a standard g40 cam at the moment and I'm wondering what other cams people have used with their 1341 setup?

Robin

you'll need a 1341 cam, schrick do one, i sold mine a few weeks ago, the duration on it is 252/272

you'll be spending around £250 for a new one.

What's the spec of the rest of your engine?

I suspect the Schrick cam  might be too mild

1341 bottom end, wossner pistons. Standard compression
standard head and cam
lightened and balanced flywheel
fast road cluch
51mm throttlebody
250cc injectors
g40 ported and polished inlet manifold
full blend charger with 65mm pulley
seperate oil feed
jt 2.5" straight through exhaust and manifold

that's my spec, I'm after a good cam to put in before I get a remap.

you'll be fine with the cam i suggested, its not too mild, i was running 166bhp with one before i went turbo, the set up i had was good for 180bhp with a good custom map.

i was running the same spec as you but i had the following extra bits:

1341cc high compression
toothed belts
front mount intercooler
aquamist methanol injection
4 branch

If I where you, I would get the head ported before cam. The general consensus on German forums is that the Schrick cam is only suitable for stock capacity/stock head

So far ive narrowed it down to the shrick cam or newman...

The Schrick cam for road use would be the 252°/276° and is £265. The Newman cam is slightly more aggressive at 264/276 and is £175

what do you guys think?

Im running a PSD cam, think they were made by newman..?

My car RR'd at 187.9BHP with a 1360cc 9:1 compression ratio and a lot of xtra mods  ;)

what is the lift duration on that cam i have one but never did get the spec i suspected it is just a rebadged newman but want to be sure when I come to use it

LeonBritton123

Im gonna go with the newman cam, anyone know where i can get one cheap?
