hi everybody
Just after a quick answear, i was greasing my charger today and noticed against the outside casing of the charger there was quite a bit of grease that had built up in a line wear the (sorry for my very un technical vocabulary!) bit that moves in the middle runs up against the outside casing i will take a picture and post it up here later but if i have over greased the charger will it damage it? is there any thing i can do ?
Second thing was i took a couple of my boost pipes of to check inside if the ptfe grease had got through to them and i dont think it has but there was a very tiny tiny amount of dark couloured oil on the inside of the boost pipes i cleaned it out and put them back on but i was wondering does this mean theres a problem with the oil seals in the charger ? it was a very evan fine coating all the way round but there was hardly any of it, if any one could shed some light on this for me it would be much appreciated !

how much grease are you spraying into the charger?  it only needs a small amount every 1000 miles or so.

every 1000 miles i put 3 short squirts in it , if theres too much grease in  there whats gnna happen and is there any way to clean it out without sending it away for a service?

hayesey

that shouldn't be too much then. Any pics of what you mean?

doesn't look too bad to me, when you spray it in, do you do it with the engine running?  You need to so the charger sucks the spray in rather than it just landing and sticking on the entrance only.

That doesn't look too bad to me either. You can tell if its badly gunged up by taking off the outlet elbow and sticking your finger inside (oooo errrr) and see what the lube build up is like there.

yea i do it with the engine running i rev  it up to about 2k whilst spraying it in (with the help of a trusty brick!), ok if thats not to bad ill leave it at that thanks for all your help u guys r fountains of knowledge, if u dont mind me asking where did u lot pick up all ur car mechanical skills from cause i would really like more knowledge of car mechanics how to remove engines rebuild engines change backs n bits n bobs like tht r u mechanics by trade or  is it just experience? thanks again
