I'm not quite sure that the engine will work 'properly'... The only sure is that it will raise rapidly boost...
Autodata books have a certain way to adjust the bypass flap...

GAF2

yeah i know what you mean about the engine but its fully shut at full throttle so would it make much of a differance if it happens eairlier.  whats autodata?

Alexiskayak_7

Books for engineers that has all the engine info needed for each car (torque settings etc...)

If you close the bypass valve early you are effectively running full throttle; the air has nowhere to go except into the engine. The 'wide open throttle' microswitch will not have closed so the engine will run very lean as well.

Alexiskayak_7

I don't really think that it will run lean... The map sensor will conceive the boost in the manifold so it will send a signal to the injectors to spray more fuel... The only sure is that you will run 'on boost' more time and that's not good for the engine...

hayesey

the ECU isn't taking any notice of the map sensor until the full throttle switch is activated so it more than likely will run lean.

In short, it's a very daft idea.

im no been funny but mine is set up exactly like explained above,,
and it came set up like that from bedrock veedubs.

the little white plastic adjuster is screwed out pretty far so the second stage throttle bit comes in earlier. i notice that when sittin at 70mph its slightly on the boost there for makes a noise with the boost return .

i didn't think too much into this but i might now consider changing it back to the original settin

cheers guys thought this would be the case.
