How long have you owned your G40

9 years this February 10th. I will never sell it. No car puts a smile on my face as much doing 40mph or 140mph.

December 2006 for my current one. Got my first in 2002 and had a couple of different polos with G engines inbetween.

I dont use it a great deal these days and have other toys but it doesnt cost much to keep so I cant see the point in getting rid.

Nice to read some of the regulars I had no idea.!! 22 years has got to be some kind of record for any car init?

I got mine in 2007 from the my boss who sold me his 1380 mini on 1996 when he bought the polo. Came with VW FSH, 40,000 miles, £600 mates' rates. He'd bought a Clio 172.!
After the first silly crash the new GT body had no rattles, no mods, lovely, quiet, smooth at 120.
2 years later I had a seizure driving home in traffic and put it off the A46 somehow.

I'll never drive again but I remember when I did every time I go out the front door. I get as much fun fixing it and spraying it as I always did, I think that's the point :-D

They are the best car I've been in especially for surprising dick-driven BMW's.!!

I barely drive mine, I get as much enjoyment out of cleaning it and just looking at it as I do driving.

6 years now, dont plan on selling it either.

Most my other cars last 6 months with me, but nothing is as hilarious as the supercharged bean can!

Currently own a BMW M2 and I think once the Polo is back complete I would choose it to drive every time. those who know... know.

Im coming up to 20 years now but known it since 1997.

Fun fact, ive done nothing with it since 2008, covered 50miles between 2008-2010 (MOT and back x2) been sat in a garage since 2011.

On Sunday i turned the engine over by hand to check not seized, replaced the battery, built up oil and fuel pressure and she started on the B of button!!

Bought our 2f G40 brand new in July 1994.
After some overhauls of G-lader, engine and body, it's still our daily car. 559.000 and counting
