Ackerman Steering
« on: January 22, 2009, 11:37:43 pm »
Am finally going to stop using my coilover conversion kit as a pen holder and make some coilovers for the polo.

I want to make some steering arms [possibly adjustable] to change the leverage etc. Not exactly rocket science to design or make and it should save me some time as I wont need to delicately remove my old ones. Has anybody ever thought of or actually tried doing this to a polo before?

Since I was going to spend some time [read:money] on steering I thought I would try to set up perfect Ackerman Steering on the G. I have yet to do the maths so don't know how it will effect the length of the track rods but can anybody foresee any issues with me changing the length? Whether it may result in cutting them down or adding an 'extension' to it?

yes I've seen mk1/2 golf hubs used on a polo with fabricated steering arms.  On a picture of the mk1 polo saf (grungeisdead on clubpolo) bought a while back.
