Front struts
« on: May 24, 2017, 07:36:45 am »
Can anybody who's a bit clever suggest a remedy for this MOT failure on my car?
It failed because the shock inserts move about with a bit of play in the strut, the shocks are not very old only covered about 2000 miles, for now I've packed them out by really wrapping thin tin around the top but
I would like a more permanent solution. Also a bit miffed as to why there's such an amount of play?

I tried to post a short video but it won't allow, so attached a picture that might help.
Any advice greatly welcome, cheers

will the shock housing with either motor oil or with antifreeze (latter is recommended by koni) then tighten the top cap.

Some people to add 2p pieces to the bottom of the tube.
