Help to buy new parts for engine opgrade
« on: October 27, 2016, 06:30:04 pm »
Hello every body

I hope that one of you can help me with a little question.
I'm in the process of building an PY engine from scratch. the goal is that it is going to run with a G60-Lader and would make around the 200hp.
what things should I change out before it can be done and what should be changed for it to be fairly reliable.

I hope that one of you can help me :D

things I already have:
G60-Lader
G60 nozzles
schrik cam
extra engine
spare engine control
spare gearbox

Things that jeg have in mind:
Piston oil cooling
Separate oil system to G-lader
new chip and "boos control"
exhaust system.

How much boost are you planning to run?

You will probably need to go for a ported and polished big valve head to make that kind of horsepower and forged internals if you want reliability.

I was thinking about 1,4 bar of boost ?

okay forged internals is it H-conrod and forged piston (Wosner piston)?

Yes H-conrods and Wosner pistons are good choices. Yes a big valve head is the original head fitted with bigger exhaust valves. To get the most out of it I would suggest also fitting a GT inlet manifold and port matching it to the head along with getting the throttle body machined to 51mm. All of the above are known to make horsepower on these engines.

Okay thanks, I will find a shop that can do that then, here in DK. :D

the last owner said that the manifold on the running engine, was an GT but I'm not sure, and dout't know how I check that, without dissembling it all ?

Do i need to make i over size 77mm piston ?

You can check the code on the manifold to make sure that it is a GT one. The code is at the second runner just behind the injector and its very visible without taking anything apart. If its a GT one it will read 030 129 713 B if it's the original G40 inlet it will read 030 129 713 D. they only have one letter difference but that is how u can definitely tell if it's a GT one. On the piston size, the bigger you can get the better. 1341cc is what people consider to be the max you can go.

Thanks !

That is very help full to me, I will check it when I get home to my workshop.

I think I will go with the 56,5mm pistons, then I have the option to bore one more time, if the cylinderliners get worn out.

PS. sorry for the bad english.

Yes I was thinking about that, but it's a big cost !

But I can go with the G45 and just aim a little lower in HP to a start. :D
