Modifications Polo G40
« on: January 14, 2009, 10:35:19 pm »
Im was wondering what are the modifications of a Polo G40, searched the i-net but i think this is the best place to ask and be  ;D
Bought it as first car got 23447 kilometers on it.
Its all original, so i was wondering how wanna Horsepowers does it pushes out and is there anyway to crank it up more?

Hi and welcome,
You say mileage is 23447 km? If this is original and genuine, then the mileage it is very low!
The G40 has 113 bhp from the factory.
There are many threads on here on how to get more power, have a search through and see. A rebuilt and ported charger with a smaller pulley, suitable chip and decent decatted exhaust system are often the first mods for more power.
It's fairly easy and not that expensive to get around 140 bhp. Beyond this it does start to become much more expensive (but even more fun!)

I'd say, if you found a Genesis G40 with that low milage, keep it stock, and cherish it. It is unique.

Want a fast G40, find a Polo II and stick a G40 in it

Im really thinking of keeping it stock yes, 113 Bhp is enough for me as first car. Only putting another radio in it  :o
Cause the original is with cassette still haha.

I bought it from my dad, its a car thats in the family haha. My dad never drived it he just had it for fun, and then i bought it over from him.
The Engine is still fresh and clean, only it stood still so long so it has a problem dunno what its causing it maybe anyone knows? Its this: When he starts his RPM are fine, around 1100 when i go drive abit and stand still, its around 800 its very annoying cause if i dont give enough gas to clutch it spits and dies haha. Maybe i just need to drive abit more to clear the fuel lines and oil lines and such? Maybe they are filled up with dirt abit orso?
And photo's are coming soon. ill try to find some on my pc already (though its dirty as hell)

very nice!  I agree that should be left totally standard, it's too rare to go messing with it.    8)

Hilos - My car does the same. If i leave it to warm up, it'll drive fine and could be fine for a couple of days. Othertimes, it revs at 800rpm and seems to be abit jerky when pulling away.

I'm going to change my ISV over for a spare i have to see if that changes anything. I'll let you know what happens.
