1/4 mile specs and times
« on: July 10, 2016, 04:32:49 pm »
Watching the sprint yesterday got me thinking,

Assuming you nail your changes and get the perfect launch, what specs deliver what times?

ie what would:-

 a standard g40 deliver?

65mm chip and pulley, ported charger on  1272cc

1341cx BVH with chip pulley/ported charger

1272 or 1341cc turbo'd

You can see where I'm going here so I  assume people have ran the 1/4's on these specs so would be interesting to see how times differ?

When I was running a 1272cc with ported charger, 65mm toothies, GT inlet, G60 injectors I was getting 15.4s @94mph

Now I'm running a 1272cc, T25 turbo, GT inlet, 268/268 Schrick cam I'm getting 14.5s @97mph

This is on a drag strip that has zero grip though but it is the only one I've been to.

Would love to go to the Pod or somewhere that has grip!

There is a separate post about this, but I’m not far off or better than some of the turbo guys and I’m still running g lader.

mines a 1341, ported head, 65mm toothies, cam, 51mmtb, 250cc injectors, gt inlet although I’m contemplating going back to a g40 one, remapped running 171bhp.

My times on road tyres are 14.2 at pod, but at a local drag strip thats got terrible traction i still ran 14.2 and i believe its down to road tyres don’t grip as well on a proper drag strip, hence why i got drag tyres and ran a 13.2 but normally average between 13.3 and 13.6 at pod.

I keep thinking about drag tyres, but I refuse to buy new ones for the amount of drag racing I actually do.
