Heavy Breathing...
« on: April 08, 2016, 06:55:17 pm »
No not me - the car!

Swapped my small 'pit bike' style filter end as the engine was coated in oil down that side. Fashioned a 'spesh motorsport' catch can from a milk bottle,  utilising the filter out of the capped for test. Oil has already formed in there after 40 miles. Changed the breather in the block 650 miles ago when the block was in bits.

Should I be concerned or is this more prevelent when turbocharging?

Also, what sort of job is changing the oil pump? Can it just be done with the sump off, engine in? Live gauge showing a distinct lack of pressure across the board. The buzzer was right. As it's 100% loss from the turbo, should I expect to see less pressure overall in a turbocharged application?

Cheers guys.
