If you didn't have a G40 what would you have instead?

I was thinking about this last night... A few to add to my list. T5 Volvo, Citroen DS  , County Transit, Syncro Golf or Jetta, a Notch or Squareback, Scirocco, Phaeton TDI, Ford F250 pickup, Subaru Brat, A2 1.4 TDI, Audi 2.6 V6 Avant. Just a few that came to mind.

I thought about this question a while ago and struggled.I'd like to
stay with the VAG Group but my mate has an Astra VXR and i
do like it....but it comes with a hefty price tag.So just to be

Thought about an earlier one of these as the kerb weight is 860kg so junk the crappy
Rover K-Series engine and stick me G40 engine in making it lighter still.
Apparently, theres a firm in Leeds who put bike engines in them.

Yep I'd love and Elise too. Either that or would be an R5 turbo or an RS1600 or and S1 RST. Possibly a MK1 XR2. There are loads of cars I'd have but they would be near the top of the list.

I'd have to go along with Sam as I also have a secret Ford appreciation shame...

S1 RS turbo was very nearly the project that the G40 has now become so if I hadn't bought the G, I'd have had one of those.

I'd replace my current daily (too embarrassing to name) with an Audi S2 at the drop of a hat.
