The time has come to sell my 6th and final G40. I’ve owned them since I was 21 (that was 17 years ago!) I bought this car off a fellow forum member. You’ll be able to see the post from November. I just wanted one last standard G40 before there were none left. The car has served me well and never missed a beat.
The following work was carried out by the last owner:
Doors off windows out respray around a year ago and the paint looks lovely and clean still.
The front panel has a few rust spots as it wasn't painted when the car was sprayed.
All the glass is genuine vw glass and all original.
The engine was rebuilt around 5000 miles ago, the head was stripped de coked and cleaned, valves lapped in, alloy bead blasted, new stem seals and rebuild. The block was checked and new main bearings as well as big end bearings were fitted, new metal head gasket and head bolts.

4 x New Yokohama A539 tyres. 185 60 13
4 x Eiback springs, bump stops and Bilstein dampers all round.
1 x New fuel pump.
Genuine VAG rear shoe kit.
Genuine VAG bee sting ariel.
1 x Set of front bosch aero wipers.
1 x G60 brake master cylinder.
1 x Full service.
As for price, it’s simple,
£3,200 if you want to haggle or £3,000 if you want to buy it. The car has 6 months MOT but I am happy to make that a year for the new owner.
The car is located in
Aberdeen, however I will be heading south (to Reading) in a few weeks and can deliver the car there if that helps but you’ll have to have paid in full before I make that journey.
