G40 front struts same as other Mk2F cars? Anyone got spares?

Hi,
  I am looking to buy a set of front suspension struts for our G40 track car, to send to GAZ to fit suspension kit (was too late to buy the set advertised by Taz a few days ago).
I thought the G40 struts were uprated / stronger than those fitted to other cars - is that correct?

Any one got a set of G40 struts for sale (assuming different to others!)?

I am in Fife in Scotland.

As far as I am aware the bare struts on all mk2f Polos were the same. Just the shocks that were different.

yes they're the same on all polos from later mk2s and all mk3s (earlier mk2s and mk1s had a less substantial design).

Thanks guys - that makes things easier.

Anyone got a pair of struts in good overall nick excess to their requirements, obviously not bothered about wheel bearing condition, shocks and springs, as all will be replaced? As long as the strut structures will clean up and fully function with new suspension.

If you have, could you let me know how much delivered to Fife, or I can collect if local to me in Glenrothes?

I ordered a "G40 " weitec kit for my mk2f saloon some years back and the front inserts wouldnt slide all the way inside the legs. no idea if this was a one off problem ?
They did however fit Robins G40 as i sold the inserts to him
