Wheel advice....too much poke!
« on: February 01, 2015, 08:42:19 pm »
Hi all

Can I ask what size wheels/tyres people are running please? Size/width/offset etc?

I've tried 4 different sets recently and all poke way too much on the front. All being 13" 7j on the front, different offsets, should I just go for something 'slimmer'?!

I've got a set of 13" Compomotive MS 1470's 7&8j but facing the fact they never fit 100% on any polo I've owned so after years of trying I need something new!

Thanks

Becky  :)

I think anything wider than 6" with an offset outside the range of ET33 to 38 is gonna cause problems when lowered without some kind of arch fettling. Having said that though, it seems that wheels that don't fit are massively popular!

Haha, some can go a bit wild sometimes!!! I still want the car to drive properly ;)

Just after a decent, (semi) sensible set that fit! :)

I concur. I'm running 14x6 ET38 with a 185/50/14. They fit and it handles nicely.

my speedines are 14x6 et 38 and sit well.

Also got some comp cxr's and they are 13x7 et3 i think and 13x8 et 8 i think. Its not actually stamped on there. They sit well and just inline with the arches, however they do have a little stretch on them. I'll try get them on at some point and some pics if you want. When i put the 8" ones on the front they were sticking out too much.
