What number is yours?
« on: September 23, 2014, 10:16:26 pm »
Hey everyone ,

just had a thought the other day like our lasses Skoda Fabia Vrs is 963 of 1000 stamped into the seats, is there a register of the polo g40? A id plate somewhere on the vehicle that tells you out of 500 which one it is mine is a early spec g40??

Cheers Danny.

You'd be able to work it out from the engine number I guess, but they're not numbered as they're not a special edition. They just didn't sell very well, hence the low numbers.

Plus any chassis or engine numbers would include the many thousands of left-hookers sold all over Europe, don't forget.

Just dug out the history on mine. A previous keeper paid to get the original registration information from the DVLA.

Spot the mistake here..

(Admin staff had Corrado on their mind?).

So my question is.. What is section 11? Is that VW's model number or model number registered with the DVLA?
You'll have to scroll page left due to my silly size photos, sorry.

Out of interest what does it say on your logbook for the engine number?
Just seems odd VW have it on their system as a KR?
At a guess the number 389 could maybe refer to the model number? As in the Polo Coupe G40 was the 389th model VW had made up until that point?

Says KR on the logbook too.

Yeah that's what I figured re: model number from Vw on the DVLA system.

Without looking at another document the same it's hard to make much more of it.

Unless it's something to do with the type approval number?
