Anyone familiar with the wiring loom?
« on: May 15, 2014, 12:25:53 am »
Problem:

Interior light & cigarette lighter not working

Checked:

Fuses – nothing blown

Alteration to standard electrics:

Aftermarket alarm/immobiliser

Feed taken for phone charger from interior light [now removed]

All other electrics working fine.
Any ideas how to go about sorting this?

Sometimes the interior light switch on the inside of the door can get stuck. My passenger one never comes on unless i give it a wiggle. Could have a broken/loose wire.

As for the cigarette lighter, is it the actual socket or the lighter itself that doesnt work? My lighter doesnt work but the socket itself does.

all from memory -so might be a bit wrong:

interior light... doesnt that connect down by the diagnostic port? is that still all connected ?

12v lighter socket - does the radio work ? it just plugs in to the same wire abit further up in the dash.

It is the problem with lighter socket and I have also faced it many a times. nothing serious get a new lighter..
