A day on the G and a strange wire
« on: May 05, 2014, 09:32:59 pm »
Our G has sat in the garage for the last couple of months a bit forlorn after failing its mot with an over fuelling issue and therefore fail the emissions test. Previously we ran through the G40 forum over fuelling dialogistic checklist but nothing obvious appeared, so today we replaced the blue sensor, the lambda sensor and the chip.
The chip that came out was an Andy Poleace G40 type III rev limited to 6500 (150bhp). We have put a PPP stage one in.
The one odd find was an extra wire, sort of bodged, original wire coming from the lambda sensor car sided plug, this wire has been stripped and another tacked/soldered on this extra then runs to the back of the dash behind the clocks, yet to find its actual destination.
Also yet to test the car as the battery needs a recharge to get up to a decent level for a proper test.

Any thoughts on what this 'extra' wire is doing? And any other things we should be doing/consider?

Yes there was an air/fuel meter, thanks guys, gives us a good destination to check and make sure it's not shorting.
Hopefully car will be ready to test later, will get back with results.
