Heating problem
« on: April 23, 2014, 02:14:40 pm »
Hey, just got heat burns and my brain melted in the car.  ::) ;D

So... heating is always on full hot. It melts me. I checked the heater temperature valve, and it seems to be working. The valve is closed when the selector is on cold, and is open when on hot... but still blows full hot in any position.

I removed the valve and checked, it seems to be working perfectly... you can not mess anything up with it as it's straightforward. Can it be broken even if it seems to be working?

Only strange thing is (to me), that the valve's hose outlet is the "out", the lower (on the heater core) outlet is the "in"... ...? Why even let hot water into the heater matrix, when you want cold blown???

The hoses going into the heater matrix seem to be in position, so I think they are not replaced... ... Can they be?

I can of course pass the heater core, but it's not an option...

Any help appreciated!  :)

Do you have the hose with a bend at the end going to the top pipe on the heater matrix ? Witch would be the right way round, hope this helps
