Hey peeps....can anyone help me b4 i go insain....when i got my g40 i saw that the yellow wire that should have gone to the oil pressure switch in the oilfeed coupling for the charger was just earthed..so i re connected it and long behold the light an buzzer went off....
So i got another black sensor..and same again...buzz buzz buzz....so i got a grey one.....and still buzz buzz buzz...!! I know there is two sensors....please does anyone know what colour they should be and to witch wires. Ive done some research on etka but im unsure.....

Any help would be a god send....!

So if you are looking at your block with your knees on the front bumper. Yellow is the left sensor and blue the right one

this is what mine are like:

blue wire to blue sensor,

yellow wire to black one.

You need to check the pressure ratings on the sensors, they could be wrong.

Use these part numbers? And these should be the pressures.

028919081D
oil pressure switch
0,25BAR M10X1 1 pin blue

068919081
oil pressure switch
1,4BAR M10X1 1 pin black

Thanks for that lads.....ill get on with it now.....just one thing jezza...my charger oil feed is on the other side wear the black pressure switch is....does this matter wich one is connected to charger oil feed or not...? Ive looked at many g40's and people have different set ups....

Thanks again...
Rich.

I had no end of issues with my G40 and the oil pressure buzzer thing.
Ended up hooking up an Audi pressure sender to a pressure gauge and earthing the yellow wire to the head.

Is there not something about early cars with late clocks or the other way around which can cause the buzzer to go off no matter what?

Thanks for that kwijibo...but i havent heard of that b4 about the late clocks...ill ask around.....

Thanks pal....

Had a look at my oil pressure senders today...the one connected to the blue wire is a dark brown colour...part number 056919081c and has 0.15 to 0.45 bar stamped on it...it a genuine vw one...the black one i replaced that joins to the yellow wire has 1.2 to 1.6 bar stamped on it....

Has for the clock idea....its on a j 1991....so im assuming the clock should be fine either way.
