Autosmart have a massive range of trim dressings. Some better than others I guess. Going to sample a few soon.

I showed a mate this site who has a very nice MK2 Golf GTi a while ago and he saw the post
"Sick of Back to Black" and proceeded to show me this stuff that Morrisons Super market sell.
He says it last`s twenty times longer than Back to Black and looks better too.
So while taking my Mom to Morrisons i grabbed two of them.
I`ve only done one of the side trim strips that are just infront of the rear wheel due to the
car being dirty at the time so i cleaned it with a rag and did the trim and i can say that it is still black now and we`re talking 3-4 month ago.
Thought i`de leave the rest to when i do the conversion to a G.
It states to buff it up but i just put it on and left it coz i liked it unbuffed.
Looking at the rack in Morrison`s there was loads of them that stated for Shoe`s but this one
doesn`t.
I dare say it`ll take a full one for a front or rear bumper but i`de say it was worth it for the
price of 84p or so as it may have gone up a little.

I bumped into a company at a show selling this:

http://bromoco.co.uk/backforgood.aspx

Supposedly it'll last for four years, and having watched it go on a Mk2 Golf at the show it looks cool too. I've not tried it yet but I'll post results when I do. It's a colour restorer, not a dye, so it'll take the trim back to whatever colour it was out of the showroom. The coating was developed for buildings originally, and it's new on the market, but if it lives up to its claims they'll sell out very quickly!

H,

I use Linseed oil which can be found from B&Q. It puts the oils back into the bumpers and makes them shine really nice.

Picture below is of my old Mk2 golf which i always used on the bumpers!!

the best thing for getting the colour back i found is used engine oil that you drain off as it has a strong black colour to it that is a right bastard to get off most things, best thing about it is its free ;D, give it a few coats over a week or so then change to either maguires or auto gleam then keep coating regularly. :P ;)
