Key Number
« on: November 28, 2013, 10:58:59 pm »
Hi
Just after a bit of help really. When I got my 40 I just got 1 cheap generic cut key.
I really would like to get a genuine pair of keys cut from the VW key number. Is there anywhere I can find the key number?
Or do I have to get a new lock set :(
Cheers Duncan

you cna buy key blanks easily enough, they used to be on ebay, might still be.  Any key cutting place in a hardware store etc... can cut it for you from the key you have it's nothing special.

Trouble is the only key I have was a bad cut and subsequent keys will be worse. I just wanted to find the original key number.

Cheers for that Pete.

Looks like I need to get a replacement lock set complete with 2 oem keys.
