hello one and all!

after looking for power options on the g40 found these:

http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/lshop,showdetail,2430,en,1381334529-2445,1138132527.motorenansaugunginductioninlet,2140097,4,Tshowrub--1138132527.motorenansaugunginductioninlet,.htm

i know bodies dont make a huge difference but thinking into it!

questions are: are they worth it? what else would i need to run these i assume an aftermarket ecu.

cheers

A lot of money though. I would personally get in touch with them and ask if they have ever had/or know of a g40 running with that setup.

ive tried, no reply though :/

so i asked on here!

gaz g40

Just ask lance then. Hes a sound fellow! All home built aswell that car it awesome

Matty!

Looked at these, thought they could be cool, just couldnt work out how they would dump the pressure like how the standard G40 TB works.

Might have to make sort sort of diverter valve.

Im sure it would be a great upgrade but always failed to see how companies charge soooooooooooooooo much for these kinds of set ups. It would be cheaper to get appropriatly sized itb's from a motorbike costing around £30-80 and fabricate the rest, ally manifold and plenum etc for fractions of the cost and exactly the same end result.

At the end of the day a throttle body is just a valve so why should they cost 100's each unless they are made of solid gold!

Currently in the process of putting my gt on throttle bodies with custom mapped digifant. Gone for small bodies (33mm)and a plenum with long velocity stacks.

According to the jenvy website 33mm bodies should be capable of about 33bhp (@9000rpm) per cylinder equating to a possible 132bhp before they become restrictive.

That set up is literally going to cost me about £100 as im fabricating all the parts myself.

Ask Yoof about throttle bodies and GT digifant, from what I remember reading in his build he got it to work. But couldn't refine it enough for it to be decent. I'm sure he will correct me though  ;D

What's your existing set-up and output Sam? May be cheaper power available unless you're pretty well maxed out with what you've got.

Cheers yeah Iv seen that build and noted where improvements can be made. I'm not sure on how much was actually done to try to refine this set up but hopefully mine should work quite well. Just got to fabricate manifold with injector mounts, fit hoses and fab a bracket to hold tps.

Will post a thread once im done probably!

Personly I would rather look into a fabricated manifold with larger plenum, and only if you have at least 1341 cc...

Stand alone management needed really, that's expensive!

No really need for ITB's with boost.  None of the OEM's do it?  I reckon you'd be better spending your money strapping on a 16v head and getting some custom pistons made.  Get rid of the 8v restriction.

Or...being happy with what you have and just enjoying the car?
