G40 distributor.... again!

The distributor on my engine has the part number 0237 521 048 on it. I can't find any link to the correct G40/GT part number. It appears to be quite new and the car seemed to run ok with it.         
Anyone know how I can find what engine this distributor this engine was originally fitted to?
Any help appreciated.

Is the wiring plug at the back of the distributor? if yes then its a mk4 polo 6n dizzy, which are perfectly fine (had one on mine for the last 5000 miles)

you cant buy new gt/g40 dizzys anymore

It's on top so I don't think its a 6n one.

hey pal, i was just digging through my paperwork. i got a genuine distributor for my GT a while back and just found the invoice if youre after a new distributor.

Thanks, but it doesn't really help.
The only part number mine has is 0237 521 048, I'm just trying to find out what engine it came from to see if it is appropriate for my car.
I've tried searching on the Bosch website but the number isn't recognised.
Anybody else?
