This could be awesome! Any ideas where to get just a rose joint from?

Haven't a clue as I'm using my g40 ones but will be hard to find some tbo unless u modify the arm itself or just make ur own from scratch like ppp ones

right so its worked :)

firstly i pressed the rose joint out the g40 TCA and pressed the bush out the standard one i got off my mate to check the inner diameter as u can see the standard on with the bush (top one) has a smaller inner diameter so i went ahead a ordered so good quality standard TCAs

so i got my new standard TCAs and pressed the bushes out got my two rose joints from the g40 TCAs

sent it to my local machine shop and asked then to make it a press fit
few days later

so i got my g40 rose joints and pressed them in at work hoping that they will be a snug fit

they were perfect took 2 tonne of pressure to put them in so perfect really

cleaned up the dust covers and holding rings

and pressed out the outer bushes ready for nylon ones :)

so ive just painted the outer part of the rose joint so it dont rust then ill pump them with grease put the dust covers back on, put the nylon bushes in and ive got myself some new g40 TCAs :)
Luckly my rose joints have loads of life left in them but when they do wear out i will get the measurements i need and get some proper spherical ones:)

over all the new standard TCAs were £41 for both
machining £45 for both

job done :)

good stuff!  I guess you could do the same with the outer bushes too, machine the bore and then press fit a suitably sized spherical bearing to that.

Would that be better than a nylon bush?
Could be onto something there ryan :)

I guess it could work as long as it was a bearing and not a rose joint plus you would probably need a cer-clips to hold he bearing in as I wouldn't want to rely on the press fit to keep it from moving, tbo nylon ones do the job pretty well I think but deffo one I will look into! :)
